COLLEGE HANDBOOK: WHAT COLLEGE STUDENT KNOW AND DO NOT KNOW ABOUT IT

Abstract

Disciplinary actions and rules in the school are necessary to set standards in the institution its self. This rules makes the institution more organized and helps the students what things are not acceptable and acceptable to the school. In order to disseminate this rules properly an institution must have a guide or hand book that states all the information and set of rules that is stated by the school. This paper presents findings of a descriptive study that was conducted in 2017-2018 which is examined the College Handbook: What College Students Know and Do Not Know about it. A survey was conducted among 120 respondents of which the researchers choose twenty (20) from each college namely: College of Teacher Education, College of Engineering Education, College of Information Technology Education, College of Arts and Sciences, College of Business Education, College of Criminal Justice Education. The finding showed that the total of each chapter is mostly aware in terms of the content in the handbook. It means that they are
frequently reading on It. It was also suggested that even it shows that they are aware of the student handbook the school should implement and review the handbook one week every start of the semester. This research aims to identify the student knowledge about the school and the set of rules given by this institution, this will also benefit the school in terms of information, provides them guidance about the student, increase efficiency of the organization and disseminating discipline and the rules implemented by the school.
